The Topcon FC-236 Field Controller is a portable computer that will collect, store, and process data up to 4 GB. The information can be transmitted wirelessly and has Bluetooth. In addition to the internal storage, everything can be uploaded to a cloud storage. It also can use GPS and has a cellular modem. Data can also be entered using the keypad. The color LCD display is a touchscreen. It also has a built-in 3-megapixel camera.

With the rating of IP-67, the Topcon FC-236 Field Controller is protected against dust and water. It will handle the damage up to 8 hours against sand and can be in 3' of water for a half an hour. It is also strong enough to handle being dropped from 5' up. It will run up to 12 hours using rechargeable Li-Ion batteries.

The Topcon FC-236 Field Controller runs the Mobile version of Windows 6.1. The color LCD display is visible in bright light. It will also different mobile versions of programs like Word, Adobe Reader, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. In addition to the 4 GB of memory, it has 256 MB of RAM. It can also use an SD card up to 16 GB.
