Simple installation: The weatherproof
IP-cameraand the sensor controlled infrared beamer can bemounted easily
on e.g. a water gauge station, a mast,concrete constructions or a
bridge. The process unitcan be housed in a water gauge station or in a
protectivecase. Elaborate and expensive installations in thewater are no
longer required.
No flow tracers required: A special feature of
thedeveloped measuring system is that no flow tracersneed to be added
for flow velocity detection. The DischargeKeeperoperates on visible
moving surfacestructures. Nevertheless, naturally occurring
floatingobjects on the water surface (e.g. leaves) enhance
themeasurement signal.
Representative measurement: Unlike other
nonintrusivesensor types (such as radar), the Discharge-Keeper delivers a
flow rate measurement (profiling)on the entire surface of the image
section. This providesa representative and spatially resolved flow
velocitydetection.
Non-intrusive: The optical measuring system
DischargeKeeperdoes not come into contact with themeasured medium. A
damage of the equipment as aresult of siltation, vegetation growth etc.
is excluded.Therefore the technology is practically maintenancefree.
On-site evaluation: All DischargeKeeper
measurementparameters (water level, velocity profile, anddischarge) are
collected and processed locally on themeasuring site almost in real
time.
Smart: DischargeKeeper informs immediately bySMS
and/or e-mail when critical system states (e.g.in case of low battery
voltage or sensor drift) arereached or when definable thresholds are
exceeded/fallen below.
Autonomy: Due to its low power consumption theDischargeKeeper may be operated with a 12 V batteryor a small solar panel.
Robust, weather insensitive, precise: The DischargeKeepercan also be used under a wide variety ofenvironmental, weather, and lighting conditions.
More than just a sensor: The DischargeKeeper
providesboth, the required measurement values andproof images from the
measuring site in HD quality. Incase of doubt, the parameters, such as
the water level,can be verified using the present image
information.Time-consuming service missions to the measuringsite can be
reduced or even avoided.
