Schonstedt’s XT512 sonde and camera locater is based on the innovative design of the XT magnetic locator. It is a highly accurate locator for 512 Hz sondes and is excellent for tracking non metallic pipes and locating obstructions. Like all of the XT series instruments it is portable, hosterable, highly accurate, and designed for easy one handed operation. In addition it can also operate in passive mode for detection of 50/60 Hz power lines.

The XT512 is useful for tracking and locating the depth/location of sewer and pipe inspection cameras, or any other 512 Hz transmitter, including Schonstedt’s own mini and micro mini 512 Hz sondes (available below under accessories). It is capable of measuring to depths up to 8′, depending upon the output power of the transmitter. The XT512 features an LCDsignal strength display in addtion to an audio output, and a total runtime of about 18 hours of intermittent use from a single 9V battery.
