The Pacific Laser Systems HVR 505 Self-Leveling Rotary Laser is the red version of the 505G and therefore has many similar features. Both units are great for working on leveling acoustic ceilings, landscapes, decks, pools, or just simple home modeling.
Highly Capable Laser When using the HVR 505, you can rely on this rotary laser’s accuracy of 1/8 inch at 100 feet and range of 500 feet. The fact that it is fully automatic for both horizontal and vertical applications lets you know that within three seconds of setting the it, you will have your angle and point of reference. In addition, once it is set, the HVR-505 laser turns on the automatic drift system (ADS), so if it is disturbed from that angle, it will stop scanning and an LED will blink. This functionality is also known as “out-of-level” or “height of instrument” alert. Along with ADS, the HVR-505 features a low battery indicator, so that the designated LED light on the machine blinks when the battery needs to be replaced or charged. There is also a green LED to indicate that the unit is in manual mode. There are two buttons on the right of the keypad. The top one allows you to choose a preset speeds – either 0, 60, 120 or 600. The bottom button is the scanning key that allows you to adjust to one of the five a preset angles (0, 10, 45, 90 or 180-degrees).
Strong Construction Tool The protection grade on the HVR-505 leveler is IP64 showing that it is completely dust tight and protected against splashes of water at any angle. This laser level can easily withstand the potentially harsh environment at a construction site. Another clue as to how well designed a construction tool is, is by the warranty. Pacific Laser Systems provides a 3-year warranty for repairs or replacements as needed during that period.
PLS HVD 505 Detector With this lightweight accessory, you can choose whether to get a rough or precise detection of the reference position and easily see which on the LCD panels. To preserve the battery, the unit has an automatic shut off after approximately twenty minutes. When using a laser outdoors, a detector is used to catch the beam that would otherwise be hard to follow. Once the HVD 505 receiver has detected the laser beam, it will buzz.
PLS Remote Control The PLS HVR-505 and 505G both come with the PLS RC remote control. The convenient part of this tool is that its nine buttons, match the buttons on the laser level's keypad. The remote works within a 40-foot distance outdoors and has a 70-foot range indoors.
The HVR505 self-leveling laser is great indoors and out. It can be used for multiple applications including curtain walls, carpentry, concrete pads and just basic slope.
