This meter can operate continuously for approximately 100 hours on one 9V battery. The HI8043's low battery warning helps reduce the possibility of taking an erroneous reading due to low power. The easy dial on this meter is it's greatest asset. Select the O₂ mode and the polarographic probe will supply you with accurate dissolved oxygen measurements in mg/L. Switch the dial to °C to display the temperature readings. The standby mode (stb) is particularly useful to keep the current flowing through the probe which is continuously polarized and ready for use.
